Nainital Zoo

Nainital zoo or Pt. G.B. pant High Altitude Zoo, Nainital was established in 1984 and was opened to public on June 1, 1995. The zoo is spread over 11 acres and is the only high altitude zoo in north India. There are lots of endangered species in the zoo like the Red panda, Bengal tiger, Tibetan wolf, Himalayan bear etc. the zoo also has a good collection of high altitude birds species like Golden pheasant, Red jungle fowl, Rose ringed parakeet etc.
The zoo also provides excellent views of the Naini Lake and in recent time it has attracted lots of tourist towards itself.
