Thaina village is located in the kalsi block of Dehradun district. It is roughly about 18 kms from kalsi and has a temple dedicated to mahasu devta. Mahasu devta is the local deity of the Jaunsar babar region and is located at seven different places across this region. Thaina is surrounded by sahespur tehsil, Chakrata tehsil, Vikasnagar tehsil, and shillai tehsin. The village is well connected by metaled road and public shared jeeps are available to this place from Vikasnagar.
