Chakrata is a cantonment town in Dehradun district in the state of Uttarakhand, India.
It is situated between the Tons and Yamuna rivers, at an elevation of 7000–7250 feet, 98 km from state capital, Dehradun, it was originally a cantonment of British Indian Army. Due west lies Himachal Pradesh, and due east are Mussoorie (73 km), Garhwal.
He (Dinesh chandna) is the Pradhan of Arya Samajh in chakrata. He takes keen interest in promoting ecotourism and runs his fast food restaurant by the name called “chandna’s shop” located in the bazaar. He also organises trips and treks in and around chakrata.
8 years ago he chandna ji started a fast food restaurant and very soon his “momos” became the speciality of his shop. He never likes to compromise with the quality of his product and thus the taste of momos served in his restaurant never changes.

According to him the number of tourist visiting chakrata has increased a lot. During the month of summers the hotels are packed and the tourism is in full flow. The people of chakrata are very helpful and always maintain their discipline. Chakrata also attracts tourist during the winter season as the landscape is thickly covered with snow.
