My name is Dhruv Anand currently pursuing in mechanical engineering (final year). Came to know about the essence of traveling on my first trip to Badrinath in June 2012. Since then traveling has become an activity for me through which I connect to myself, creating myself. Till now I have traveled to many place to name a few like Tapovan ,Nag tibba,Shimla, Kedarnath, Chakrata. And always eager to seek an opportunity for traveling during my semester breaks.

My Trip from Dehradun to Chopta (201kms)

Started the journey on my bike (Pulsar 200ns) at 8.30am from Dehradun, reaching Sari village at 2.30pm which is the start point of Deorital trek. Deorital also known as Devriyatal, the lake of gods is in the midst of dense forest cut off from the rest of the world. An ideal place for someone who wants to spend quality time in the wilderness. An easily accessible place, open for trekking all-round the year.

Though I planned the trek till Chandrashilla from Sari village but it couldn’t be completed due to heavy snowfall leading to disappeared trail path so we trekked till Deorital, spent the night, saw the majestic sunrise at the taal with the first sun rays falling at Chaukambha making it an awe-inspiring sight to watch.

After descending to Sari village we experienced some local life by making acquaintances with the children at school Then had some paranthas and left for Chopta
Had to stop 10kms before due to frozen snow on the road making it impossible to drive. So the plan of going to Chopta and then to Tungnath couldn’t be completed and we had to leave the place with the hope of coming back some other time
